Adaptis connects POHODA to the retail-chain EDI network — ORiON EDI, EDITEL and GS1

#EDI#integration#news#POHODA

We're expanding our integration portfolio with full EDI integration. For suppliers to the retail chains we now connect the POHODA ERP directly to the EDI network the chains trade over — through the ORiON EDI provider by GRiT and EDITEL, and to the GS1 standards.

The goal is simple: orders, despatch advices and invoices should flow between the chain and your accounting automatically, not through portals and manual re-typing.

Why EDI, and why now

Retail chains now require their suppliers to exchange documents electronically (EDI) as standard. Without an ERP connection that means logging into each chain's portal, re-typing orders into POHODA by hand and watching deadlines — and a late or incorrectly filled despatch advice risks a penalty. As the number of chains and orders grows, this becomes manual work that slows you down and introduces errors.

What the integration does

  • Automatic order intake (ORDERS). An electronic order from the chain is pulled from the EDI network and created as a sales order in POHODA — with matched stock items, quantities, prices and delivery date.
  • Despatch advice and invoice back (DESADV, INVOIC). From the shipped delivery and the issued invoice the system builds the DESADV and INVOIC messages in GS1 EANCOM format and sends them back to the chain within the deadline and in the structure it requires.
  • GS1 standards. Customers are identified by a GLN, items by a GTIN and logistic units by an SSCC. The mapping between your catalogue and the chain's numbers is set up once and simply reused after that.
  • Validation and status overview. Messages are checked against the chain's structure before sending, and every inbound and outbound message has a status and history, including technical acknowledgements from the provider.

ORiON EDI, EDITEL and the GS1 standards

The integration works with the EDI provider you already use. ORiON EDI is a cloud EDI platform by the Czech company GRiT, a long-standing partner of ours. EDITEL operates the international eXite EDI platform. Both networks are built on GS1 standards — specifically the EANCOM retail message set (ORDERS, ORDRSP, DESADV, RECADV, INVOIC) and the GLN, GTIN and SSCC identifiers.

So we replace neither your ERP nor the EDI network. We connect them, so that data flows between POHODA and the chain on its own.

Who it's for

The solution is aimed at suppliers who stock retail chains such as Kaufland, Albert, Lidl, Tesco, Makro, Globus, Penny or Billa and want their communication wired straight into POHODA. Connecting an additional chain is then a matter of configuring its messages and mapping, not a new system.

How to start

We'll go through which chains you supply, which messages they require and which EDI provider you already have — and design a tailored connection. Read more on the EDI integration for retail suppliers page, or just get in touch and we'll talk specifics.
